Patients at Laurel Heights Hospital participate in educational programming through Laurel Heights Academy, a full-service on-campus school. Laurel Heights Academy follows the Georgia Department of Education curriculum and is accredited by Cognia.
The curriculum includes reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and physical education/recreation therapy. During the academic year, school is in session for a full day. During the summer months, academic instruction takes place for half days, with group and recreation therapies and other activities scheduled for the remainder of the day.
Students have access to a media center with a computer lab and seasonal experiential education projects.
